Starting Your Plane by Yourself, 60ccc or Larger

I like my wife holding it with the aforehand knowledge that my life insurance is not paid up. haha

I probably have an advantage in this regard being old and weak.

The stopper, or the fuel line?

    Pilot RC 107" Extra 330SC

Yeah, I noticed I had to cut the line off the tubing with no barb. I couldn't pull it off, it would just stretch with a healthy he-man effort. So that stock line is pretty good, huh? Five years? Wow! Do you think these new ones have just as good of line as your five year old one?

I have three of these Pilot RC tanks sitting here so I got curious about them. The stopper goes on kinda like a grommet and seems pretty good. The clunk is big and is chamfer'd and has a slot like DUBRO (maybe not as pretty, haha), although it doesn't have much of a "barb" per se... just a tiny...

What's awesome too... is that with these brushless servos I'm using 300 mah per flight on 15 servos! :) Always remember, if it doesn't hover?, you must recover! haha

Wireless would be nice, but what we've always wanted is wysiwyg (pronounced wizzy wig!). At least we have killer brushless servos, and that ain't bad. :)

Programming also allows you to setup 10, 15, or more, servos on an 8 channel RX. :)

    Pilot RC 107" Extra 330SC

For me mine is setup pretty sweet. Although one more rudder servo would be better. :sneaky: I didn't buy two more after flying my first one because I thought they flew bad the way I set them up, you know? haha I changed from a Mejzlik 32-10 original standard, to a Falcon 31-12 today. The plane...

For you guys that program your Hitec servos... the new brushless servo programmer is not WYSIWYG after all. The "RC MODE" let's you switch back and forth between programming and radio control without plugging and re-plugging cables. Which is nice, but not as nice as if they would figure out WYSIWYG.

Yeah, he's got 8 on the ailerons to my 6. We both have 4 on the elevators, but he has 4 on the rudder to my 3. Sure am glad he noticed the rudder tray mount. It's way better now!

haha! The new one does high alpha knife edge much better than the old one... more servos is the ticket! hehe I had 2 on the old one, 3 on the new one, and Tavis went with 4 on his! I could probably use 4 meeself!

I think I never responded to this? Sorry @WMcNabb ! :) It did need to be in the air, and I'm glad it's got 10 flights on it now! Gonna try out that stiffened up rudder tray mounting tomorrow, hopefully!

Some trivia... I've stopped using conicals for the most part. I'm using locknuts now. :) I also decided to program my Hitec brushless elevator servos on my Sukhoi (for whatever reason). I used the Brushless Programming dongle and software program. It has a "RC Mode" feature where you check with...

@Tavis is building a 122" Pilot RC Extra, as well. He's 3/4 of the way done. He's got 18 servos in it @Terryscustom , haha. Anyway, he noticed something about the rudder tray... that even though the tray itself is stout... what it is mounted to is not. He told me he could move the whole tray...

DOD and WildHare, those were the days. :) I'm always talking to these guys at the field about getting their kills and chokes off the switches. I put my kill on the slider, it's hard to get to. And, my choke on the spring switch. Even if I accidentally bump the choke switch it still won't kill...

I guess on motors we should mention MVVS, @TazmanianDevil loves them. :) @Tavis and others were trying to influence me towards ZDZ since I got back... but I thought it was hype. haha What finally motivated me was the Euro Krill guys I made friends with on Facebook. They love their DLEs (in...

    Pilot RC 107" Extra 330SC

I have my ZDZ-180 choke on a spring switch... when it pops I let go of the switch and it just keeps running. The guys at the field are impressed. haha I've always done my choke servos that way. :)
