The best fun I ever had

ChickenBalls, you and people like you are the reason I enjoy this hobby so much!! It ain't just the planes!! I have been on the other side of the coin, I have a very bad back. One day at the flying field I put a plane in waaaay out, the guys would NOT let me go out to get it. I kinda insisted...

I like the idea of the smart fly, and I do see it keeping it simple. But is smart fly the only GOOD choice of a power board? Are there any others that are as good? I don't want to start a brand war, just can't seem to find other choices.

I see where you are coming from, (LOL) Changing it to gray scale lets you see a better perspective of the plane on a cloudy day. My biggest problem is seeing the plane is when I do something like a shark tooth, when I come over the top I'm so high up I lose JUST the wings being level. Big part...

Oh, that's it, you are my teacher from now on!!!! I'll try that, never thought of trying anything like that before!!! I can see something being bigger and bolder standing out. I have also heard of circles working under the plane. Supposedly you can see if the plane is not flying level easier...

I like what you did under yours. Don't know if that would be better for me than panio keys. Don't complain about the OT to much, you could be like me and not be able to work any. And it is diffenaly not what I (or you ) would want! Glad I got my planes to keep me busy!!!!h

Thanks Rob (?) For the removal trick. I'll try it. Monocoat is the only covering I have used. I've done move than a dozen planes with it, just all smaller. But I will go through your thread on the "other" site, always something to learn from someone else's work.                              ...

Oh yes, once this covering is off she will be going straight on an incidence meter. Plane was to pull new attachment points in it for the wings and stab. She will be at zero!! This plane has the flat style hinges which will make is easy to double pin each side. I don't like the thought of...

As far as a motor goes, I believe a DA 150 on cans should be fin, looks like a lot of used DA 150s on the market now. ( I'm on a budget!) Servos still undecided. RX will be my trusted 9503. The scheme, I like white! So a lot of that to start with. I have a friend that does full body car wraps...

So I take it this will be a good IMAC bird? I'm just a beginner, flying basic. Was flying with 30cc size planes. I told people (and my wife) I was going to skip 50cc size planes and go to 100cc size. Now I have this, 150cc or larger!! But I hope this plane see's me improve a few levels!!

Sorry, no longer sold. I got lucky, put an ad out for a "wreck" that would need work to get it flying. I was answered by a gent that wanted this plane out of his basement. Came with spare cowl, x 3 canopy's, spare wheel pants, landing gear and more. Not much wrong with it, could fly it as is...

My "build" will be a Dietrich 42% slick 540. More of a rebuild. It's kinda nice having an older plane such as this because I can look up all the faults other had with this plane and fix them as I go. The plane will be set up strictly for IMAC.  I won't go on here as I don't want to hijack...

Thank you for this thread!! I have a 42% plane to rebuild and recover, my first large plane. Following along with your build helps so much!!!
