    Canopy Refurbishment/Repair

    That may be something of an understatement...one spot would have been pretty quick and easy as canopy material is soft....but I made such a mess of it I ended up polishing nearly the entire canopy :msn_slap: I just considered it a good way to remind myself to NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!

    And while I was waiting for the body filler to dry on the stabs I assembled my newly arrived servo tray...made by Secraft. It is awesome (so was the price tag)!!! It will free my servo from any pulling pressure caused by the pull-pull rudder cables however, so I think it is money well spent.

    Despite the silence here I have recently been able to return slowly to working on the Raven....My first step was to Hysol the canopy to the canopy frame...Which bonded well but I royally screwed up by getting Epoxy all over the clear canopy...

    I'm in a race to get my airframe painted before it gets too cold to paint outside. I don't have the ability to paint indoors if I still want to sleep in a bed :confused:. I haven't been posting much (and what I'm doing is boring) but I am getting close...ish. But then again so is winter:cryin:.

    For best results you'll want to remove enough area of the wood you are bonding to to GE to clean (not glue soaked) wood. For stringer type repairs, simply cut them back and use a scarf joint (cut at an angle to increase glue surface area). For joint that you cannot remove the old glue use epoxy...
