    Joe Nall 2025

Horizon was doing a Joe Nall special for $200 (just need a 3S 2200) add the floats for $35. I guess they sold out and had a guy come in with more! I was being very gentle with the tail touch, but a gust of wind pushed the plane down and over which I think really did it in. I get why we all dip...

    Joe Nall 2025

Not sure if it was this pic or not, but soon after my metal servo arm (with a pinch screw) sheared the teeth leaving my plane in a hard over rudder. I did a circle and landed it hard after using my kill switch. Broke the prop, bent the spinner back plate, damaged the left elevator hinge. Got...

    Joe Nall 2025

Group of us looking over a little mishap where myself (gray AJ shirt), Kevin (orange), and the guy in the green next to Jase were hovering, did a 3-2-1 up, I peeled off into a waterfall, but those two kept going up and then down into a blender… and got blended! A wing made contact with a landing...

I was taunted into dragging a wing tip, wasn’t able to do a full circle but still quite fun! Little bit in night flying and a view of the people. Quite the turnout!

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Raining like mad here too. We had the fourth wettest April on record for Juneau. Sun came out for a little bit today before work so I was working on teaching the kiddos how to throw a chuck glider. Told my little boy to run and throw it, so he raaaaannn, then stopped, and threw it. LOL but he...

You're too kind. I should just leave plane in up there. Some family on my wife's side live in Georgia, might be a good excuse to come see them once a year.

Yup. I have to fly my 104NG via Air Cargo to the nearest facility so ATL it is.

    Joe Nall 2025

I wish it was one week earlier for that reason. If you were to just attend Tuesday and leave Friday you’d at least get to experience the size of this event at its peak. It’s a lot of work for me to make it happen again. Shipping my airplane on air cargo next week, have to pick it up M-F...

I've lined up some kid helpers so I can attend this year. Looking like I might be there Monday and leaving Friday. Anyone else going?

Sport Racing plane for 3 cylinder Kolm engine.

During your builds I always notice how everything fits very nicely, the wood is always clean/sanded, and no excess glue. Bravo!

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Took the TA Horizons Stol X out for its maiden flight along with my pocket radio on ELRS. Everything went great. The plane flies quite slow with flaperons, 2S won’t let it 3D much, so might try 3S. I’ve been chasing my kids around the parked car in the driveway with ease to give you an idea...

Sport Racing plane for 3 cylinder Kolm engine.

They don't add a lot of weight; I'd still use them even if using thin balsa. I always figured the advantage is to create rigidity of the noodle spars - thus reducing the flex in the wing at a very small weight penalty. I've seen them used more where the wing center section area and once they...

You can always buy an external ELRS module if you want later down the road. I got the CNC gimbals for it, I don't think they are worth the hype and the plastic ones felt less clunky to me. Otherwise the fit and feel of this radio is quite nice and ergonomic!
