The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Actually, one of my friends ordered one from Tru-Turn with the same specs except it was anodized black and I believe the final price was right around $260. It is pretty but, I don't think I would have spent that much :)

    40% switch / battery combinations

I am using a separate battery for the ignition. The ignition switch is controlled with a switch on my tx. I am running a GP 176EVO on RE3's and it is a monster! I have tried a Falcon 30x13w and Mejzlik 31x12 and they rip at about 1/2 throttle. Going to try a friends 29x12n 3 blade Mejzlik to...

    40% switch / battery combinations

Getting ready to pull my Airtronics dual 10ch rx's and install a Jeti CB200 in my Extra 330LX. I am currently using the magnetic switch and also the Jeti remote ignition switch. the only thing on the outside of the plane is the fueling port and a small LED plate for the magnetic switch, which...

Boy it was a little hard to see until the wings rocked with the gray background. Probably just take some getting used to :)

How was the noise level of the Falcon compared to the Delro?

Awesome job! Is it easy to see in the sky on a cloudy day or does it kind of blend in?

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Well, the 31x12evo-l ripped at about half throttle! It did have better pulling power on the uplines though. I am looking forward to trying my friends 29x12N 3 blade to see how that works out. When the Mejzlik ripped it wasn't near as loud as the Falcon though. As far as breaking goes, the...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I am finding out that the Falcon props are quite a bit louder than Mejzlik props. I have started going with more pitch and less diameter on the larger engines and so far it seems to be working out pretty good for me. I will let you know what happens with the 31x12evo-l Mejzilk after I get done...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

It is funny you mention that because I was thinking the same thing :) For the type of flying you like I think cans would be a better choice because they tend to not be as finicky about the rpm range you are running in. The Proflow cans from @Planebender are supposed to be the sweet spot for...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

That was one of the smoother flights of the day :) Figured out that without the spinner it is a touch tail heavy which made it super sensitive to the elevator so, it took a few flights to get used to that but, by the 4th flight I was able to get through the Intermediate sequence without zeroing...

Hey Rob, See if it works now. It shows as Publc but, maybe it wasn't saved that way.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I got a break in the weather and took the 330 out for some test flights. After 5 flights with the highest temp being 197, I am feeling pretty good about the GP-176EVO! The video is of the first flight out of 5 today :-) Sorry no 3D, this is my IMAC bird :-)

Looking for some help reading these plugs. My thoughts are a touch lean. This was from a full throttle runup and ignition kill. The lighter one is from the cooler side of the engine, see previous post on baffling :) I am running 40:1 Redline with 91 octane ethonal free gas.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Ok. Just downloaded the data from my Eagletree recorder and for those who are still in doubt that baffling helps and that good baffling helps even more, Details don't lie :) I only finished one side of the baffling last night because I didn't know the engine was going to show up today, 3 days...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Well the engine showed up 3 days early so, I put it back in it's rightful spot and was able to get it fired up tonight! What a beast this will be :) Looks like we may get a brek tomorrow and possibly get a flight in if the field is dry enough. Going to check on it tonight

    jeti DS 16 thread

If you use the Central Box 200 you have dual battery inputs along with servo isolation so a bad servo doesn't take out everything it just gets shutdown.

    jeti DS 16 thread

@camss69 I am waiting for my DS-14 to get here. It is a less expensive way to get into the Jeti transmitters and only pay for the modules you will actually use. I picked mine up from Helidirect.com. You can also give Espritmodel.com a call and ask any questions you have. They will gladly answer...
