Little girl got her first airplane for Christmas thanks to a club member. She loves it and has already crashed it once resulting in a busted chin and lip. Crawled right back over for more though.

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

Don’t think. Just go buy. They are a world of fun. Been a whole new skill set for me to learn. Learning to properly launch is only a little of it. Then learning to read the air, know where to go for possible lift, learning how the plane signals lift is all just good fun. I will say I have...

For entry level it all depends on what your willing to spend and what kind of performance you want out of it. If your just looking for something to toss around every so often and is pretty inexpensive then the Elf or whatever the one hobby king sells are decent choices. The whipit is fun as well...

Yes sir. DLG or Discus Launch Glider. You can see the peg in the left wing tip. Hook it in your fingers, spin really fast, and let it go.

Yes more technique than strength. Most of the guys out there getting the higher launches are really skinny guys. Some of it is in the plane too. This new plane launches higher than the one in my profile pic and I’m not even throwing it as hard. Long flight times can be had. Guy I fly with all...

Got the maiden out of the way on my Vortex 3 dlg. Awesome flying plane. Need some calmer weather to get proper trim flights in.

Cant remember. Was just something I saw on Facebook. I think they are around a 35-40" span and if I remember correctly he based them off of the Diamond Dust but was mostly his own design.

Where I flew today all the snow was gone but it’s my understanding that it’s pretty easy to find them in the snow around here at least where the temps are changing so often. And yes getting deep into them. This makes 3 in the hangar currently. Don’t get me wrong I still love 3D but it’s one hell...

Correct. They suck for straight cuts but when you have very intricate cuts and don’t want to have to rotate the work piece at each direction change then the spiral ones are awesome.

    3DHS 75" EDGE 540 V2 Assembly Thread

I have been running this esc in one of my 3D profile planes for a couple years now. When I fly that plane it gets pushed hard and the esc has been rock solid. I wouldn’t question using it. http://www.valuehobby.com/power-systems/speed-controller/airplane-heli-esc/hobbywing-skywalker-50a.html

It’s the wrong time of the year for it but yard sales are a good source for tools. I found my delta variable speed scroll saw for $10. Also you can look on Craigslist and Facebook classifieds and find them cheap.
