3D Hobby Shop - 58" Edge 540

This new mid-sized Edge 540 from 3DHobbyShop joins the outstanding 57-59" 3DHS lineup with hardcore 3D performance and wicked good looks. Employing the Scott Stoops aerodynamics pilots have been enjoying on the 41", 48" and 74" Edges, the 58" has the high pitch rate, super-stable harrier, super-slow knife edge, easy hover and everything you need to put on your best 3D exhibition. The straight leading edge of the main wing gives excellent resistance to tip-stalling, so the 58" Edge is easy to harrier turn in an extremely tight radius and wont bite!

The 58" Edge includes a carbon wingtube, carbon one-piece landing gear, a carbon-reinforced landing-gear attachment system, genuine ultracote, complete hardware, canopy hatch latch, aluminum axles, hinges installed in control surfaces, and all of the 3DHS quality features pilots have come to expect.

The 58" Edge is extremely flexible on power system requirements, using 4S to 6S lipo. Use qty 4 Mid-size servos with metal gears such as Hitec HS-225MG and a transmitter with dual rates and exponential. With two super-high visibility color schemes to choose from, the 58" will get you noticed at any field and deliver exactly the performance you want.

You are correct, it was the 480kv. I'm so used to all my 6S motors for the 30cc sized planes which all run 380kv.

Some pics of my 58" Edge. I think the vinyl I put on it came from the 74" kit.

They had these on offer on a UK site (Globalrc) so I've ordered one, I'm also sourcing the other parts from UK sites as I'd like to get this one in the air quickly, so have gone for the following for a 6 cell set up;

Hacker A40-14S
Energ Pro 85 SBEC ESC
Hitec HS225MG Servo x 4

I've also ordered 15x7 & 15x8 xoar pjn props, I'll see which works best for me.

I have a selection of batteries to work with, I'll see how the cofg works out with the largest and work my way down.

St3v3:

I'm using a Motrofly 4315-480 with fiberglass mount which I believe is about 2 oz heavier than the A40. I also have an ICE Lite 100 ESC, not sure what weight diff is compared to Energ Pro. I run GensAce 6S 2500mah and have packs pretty far forward to get correct cg so you may need a bigger battery or have to add some weight to the nose. I'm also running Xoar pjn 15x8 btw.
