3D NACA ducts installment

After having some heat problems with my plane I was thinking about doing something to solve that specific problem went to the web and found a lot of info about NACA ducts.
Well the web is full of information in a very good information about that specific way to cool down your engine.

The interior of the plane was suffering heat problems too so I thought about why not use that specific duct cooling The interior of the plane.
For that I used two ducts to cool down the regulators.
Then I did another one on top of the canopy to move some air and cool the rest of the fuselage.

After finishing that I went to do some modifications to the cowl.
I did two ducts with I nozzle to deflect the air that coming through the duct directly to the cylinders.
The other two ducts were installed on the bottom of the cowl to move some air directly on the canisters.

Above that I used an isolating fabric that I sewed to isolate the canisters heat from moving up through the to the rest of the fuselage.

This project was done on my old Krill SU 29 with balsa made ducts.
When I'll see that it's actually working only then I'll do the same thing with the same method on my new LX.

The cowl is done.
Total of 4 inlets 2 for the cylinders and 2 big ones for the cans.
Now we will need to see how good it is and see the temps goes down.

I'll be interested in the result...i am aware of NACA ducts and how effective they are supposed to be but I don't understand the science or how to size/use them correctly...I'll have to do some research!

It's not that hard especially if you're using the small ones so they don't have to be super efficient.
I'm working with a buddy of mine to make some out of carbon fiber.
He will make me the moulds out of 3D printing and I'll make the carbon work.
I'm thinking about 2 molds, one with a nozzle and one regular.

Hi guys

Did try them out and they truly work !
The out side temp was about 93 the engine got to about 230 the far cylinder, the closer one was 200 when I've stopped the engine.
The regs 95
The batts 86
The receiver 86
The cans 140, on the ground.

I'm about to open some more small vents on the tail to vent the air more efficient.
Let you know more later.

All the measurements were done after a very aggressive 3D flight with full engine down on the deck.

On IMAC flight the temps went down by 41-50 degrees. Awesome.
