Warbirds are generally heavier than an aerobatic plane, therefore a greater impact when they hit the ground. :face-palm:

Simple the rule is E=1/2*M*V-sq. The wood you are using is the same strength for all the sizes we build so if weight goes up and the speed squared the impact is going to just that much more. Therefor the harder it hits the smaller the piece.

In fact, 100% correct. In a simpler and more basic example, it is the mass weight at impact. Take this as an example: Put the weight of an 18 wheeler into the size of a freight train, with the strength of a Yugo....(Remember the Yugo's?).... then drive that big truck into a brick wall. Doah....Oh look....confetti. LOL

As the saying goes....the bigger they are, the harder they fall! :D
True fact also. I discovered that very interesting tid bit of information last summer when a certain Big Azz Yak fell outta the sky. Remember that Mike? Oiy!!!!
