Hi everyone,

I am Jacob Pollak, I am 15 years old, and I am from south Florida. I was introduced to flying in 2009 when I was offered a deal on a stick, a week later I started on the buddy box and quickly progressed to sport flying within weeks. About a year later I bought my first 3D airplane, a 67" profile. After a few months of flying 3D, I ripped the wings off of it. A few months after that i bought a 3D Hobby shop 70" slick and began to fly "real 3D", this was late 2010. I was hooked and soon found myself buying a second one, electric, and a small velox. I flew non-stop, almost everyday. In 2011, I decided to start competing in IMAC, I began at the triple tree youth-masters event where i took 3rd place in basic. From that point i Knew i wanted to compete. I began searching for a good competition plane and began this season of IMAC flying a demo plane for the LHS. I competed in 5 IMAC's in basic class and 2 freestyle events all of which I either one or placed. As i found my skills were improving my dad treated me to a 104" Slick in September. I flew that plane up until the Deland huckfest in november. I am currently building a 104" EF extra to replace It, you can follow the build here http://www.3drcforums.com/showthread.php?769-Assembly-log-EF-104-Extra .

Thank you all, and I look forward to flying with Team 3DRCF.

Jacob Pollak

Hey Jacob, welcome to the forum and congrats on the team. Watching the slick video I was actually feeling relaxed watching 3D- really smooth flying! I'm trying to promote 3 D and precision flying/IMAC in my club and your video is a fantastic example of how controlled and "peaceful" 3D can be. For those who think it is only ballistic hucking I would say watch that vid. You young guys doing so well and promoting this type of flying is great for the hobby. Keep up the good work. Thanks!

Nice Jacob, looked like a busy windy day at your field, quite the mix during your vid; 3D, giant, EDF and turbine. Guess the spotter was a good idea! how do you normally divide up the airspace at your field when its mixed like that? Any discussion or Every man for himself except for "going up" and "landing". I'm tryng to promote 3D and IMAC at my club and any suggestions about sharing the runway environment would be great. I'm jealous if your hangar. Keep up the good work.

During the week we usually go up in groups of 2 or 3 similar planes but during the weekend until the after noon it us every man for himself. The field is at a public park so the hosting club has no control over the field and pilots don't have to join the club to fly, these non-member pilots generally have no respect for the other pilots or the rules.

A joke that some of the other clubs have is "at mayhem park the fly every 15 minutes until someone has a midair, then they fly every half hour..."

I don't like to fly there over the weekend but it is extremely close to my house so it is hard not to. It is a great place for weekday flying though, good group of weekday pilots.

Ah, yeah that's exactly what we are trying to avoid! The "old timers" and circle flyers are not big fans of midairs. That's what some of them think 3 D is all about- mayhem an chaos. We know its not. Too bad you can't convert some of the crazy park flyers into more order. They would lose fewer planes and probably become more proficient. That kind of craziness is what can give the hobby a bad name but as you said it is public access. How do the rest of the land users feel about the chaos on the weekend.
