Finished installing my new elevator control horns I fabricated from 0.060" FR4 epoxy/glass laminate phenolic sheet I ordered from ePlastics - they are based out of Cali. This is a little thicker than the 1.5mm size sheet a lot of control horns are made of, but fit pretty well. This is a much better option than using my linen based phenolic I had lying around...

Well I did get the motor stand off made and installed the 6374 SK3 out runner. Looks like it will produce about 3 Kilo watts with the Falcon 20x10. Hoping to have the plane around 12.5 pounds when completed.

Need to ask a question. I have similar plane it's predicted weight to be 13 lbs. now looking up all info.
Need a 3000 to 3500 watt motor. Cost $250 from exstream flite .
Need a 120 amp esc for 12 s battery. Cost $ 300 Castel
Need 6s at 3500 to 4000 mAh. Need 6 packs to fly 3 times 125/pack $750.
That comes to $1250 to power the plane that is a lot of money for that size plane is this the going rate or am I missing something. Can buy a pretty good gas motors for that money can you advise. Thanks.

I chose Turnigy Power systems for everything from HK except the prop (Falcon 20x10 carbon electric 70$).

Turnigy SK3 6374 192kv motor will produce up to 4000 watts but rated for 80 amps @ 48 volts and 3000 watts. $75.00

Turnigy Aerostar 150amp opto ESC. $110.00

Two Turnigy 6S 3300mah Nano Techs 45C batteries. $55.00 ea. (run in series for 12s).

One Turnigy Mega 1000 watt 12-36vdc input charger max 30 amp charge rate. Charge batteries to 90% in less than 8 minutes. $180.00

This comes to $545.00 to fly all day on just two batteries. (add 20 minutes between flights for battery cool downs).

Plane with shipping was $468. Add $250 for servos. Package to fly as an electric....$1263.00 This is everything including charger. Does not include radio tho!

@Snoopy1 I did get a wattmeter test done on the 20x10 and motor......Pulled 96.5 amps @2986 watts. Seriously strong thrust! I have seen vids of a guy using this motor in a 83" EF MXS and EF V2 78" Extra. 12S- 3700 6s 40c in series. 23x8 Xoar wood. Making 4000 watts power.

Thanks for taking the time to help. Like the idea of one pack and recharging, that makes sense because of cost of batteries. I do have the equipment to change at a decent rate already. Ie at 20amps.

Your welcome. Turnigy also has a new chemistry lipo called Graphene. Compared cost to my existing 6S pack is 75.00 vs 55.00. Going to try some on this new bird. I hear they are supposed to out perform thunder power and take a fast charge like no other battery.

Thanks for the compliment @pawnshopmike
