Discussion HobbyKing Carbon Fiber Tailwheel set 80cc-100cc

Julio Fernandez

New to GSN!
I had one in one of my 100cc. I'm sorry to say, but it's not strong enough to support the weight of a 100cc. The metal parts are like tin beer can:(, and the wheel it is too soft foam:on_the_go:.

Regards.

That's SOLID information right there.

I'm planning on using it on a 91" EF Yak. On reading a review on the 50cc size Hobbyking offers, it was deemed too small. So I chose to get the 80-100cc.

Do you think it would be more suited to 50cc size?

Yes, I think so....eventhough try to replace the foam wheel.

Finally received the tailwheel set this past Saturday. My initial impression:-
  • Well made carbon fiber component-strong with a decent finish.
  • The metal portion that holds the wheel is not quite as sturdy as one would expect for a set suitable for a model over 35%. Notwithstanding, the finish is good.
  • The wheel is made of foam and, as recommended earlier, has been replaced with a Dubro 1.25" wheel I had available.
