You nailed it. Fit issue.

The RCGF plug caps are a few hundredths larger inside diameter at the insulator than the RcExel /DLE plug caps. Or at least the two examples I have on hand. Here is what I measured......

RCGF- .64"
RcExel- .57"

You can sure tell the difference in the caps. Now that I have the DLE cap on it is really a tight fit.

Surfaces are hinged. Got servos installed in tail. Started making up pushrods using 4-40 threaded rod and carbon fiber tubing. First try gluing in the rods using thick CA was a miserable failure. Got mad and used some hysol 9430. Can't find anything that bonds to prepregs better than that. Just takes forever to cure.

Very accurate. Both RCG/F engines I've owned were this way. Way too loose on the plug cap.

I have everything mounted or sitting on the scale. 8lbs 5.2oz. (Except for tech aero IBEC and a couple fasteners). Also looks to be able to balance reasonably well. Pretty happy with that. End result should end up less than 8.5 lbs.

Mine came out at 9.1 lbs, so 8.5 should be pretty good. I put it through the ringer and can do tons of wild stuff with it, but I gotta learn to fly as low as balsadust does before I have arrived.

Only one way to get there and that's to do it.

Seriously though when your down low and close to yourself it becomes a lot easier in my opinion. One other thing I learned and everyone does it different but for me when I pop into a hover I look at the tail of the plane the whole time its in a hover. I have found doing it that way I am able to maintain a more stable harrier than if I'm watching the entire plane. Oh and next time we fly together I'm not taking no for an answer, you will fly the "Big Tiddy"
