@rmyers Have you flown your QQ300 yet?

OK after verifying the center of gravity was alright I tried another flight yesterday. The results were worse than the previous flight. :very_angry: The plane acted like it was possessed. :steamer: I managed to get it down safely and parked it on a table. WTFO? Well it finally came to me to carefully check the compensation from the Aura. There it was, hard to see in precision easy to see in 3D. Pitch the nose up and the Aura applied up elevator! Same thing pitch down more down elevator. Yaw to the right and Aura applied more right rudder etc. I had switched the control pushrods onto the wrong servos! It should have hit me when I had to reverse those servos in my radio to make them work properly.
:msn_slap:
It's all fixed now and verified waiting for the next good day to finally get some good flights in. Technology is a good thing.

LoL.... I had a similar outing when I was first introduced to the QQ300. The reverse in my radio did not match the servo throw assigned in the Aura 8. So When I flipped the switch to stabilize I about stabilized my britches :dancing-poop:. The ground permanently stabilized QQ300 number 1. The learning curve was not that bad with the Aura though. Or should I say Aura tool....:). My memory is somewhat shot but the QQ300 I fly now is actually my #2 and not the third as I first thought. I have a Rock Star bi-plane and it flies horrible without stabilization. I have an Aura 8 in it too and it flies like a dream with it. I used an "open stock" Aura 8 in it and programmed it myself. Very similar to the QQ300 but some of the gains are dialed back just a bit so it does not shake , wiggle, oscillate during high speeds. I did go in to the QQ300 Aura 8 and dialed back the rudder gain a bit.

Got out and flew some on the Alien today. When I got home a box was waiting for me to open from @Decal Dennis :).

New stickers not on it in the pic's but it's a higher resolution pic from my buddies camera. Much better quality than I had posted earlier.

Shot a short video which I will call Test 5. Plane is dialed in pretty well now and the DL50 even though pretty rich on the low end is starting to break in and delivering huge power for it's displacement. Remember this is a 20 pound bird. Plane will show every  mistake I make but recovers extremely well and has a "float like feel". Kept my flirting with the ground from becoming a dirt nap :ooh?:. I definitely think once my cub is finished I can fly with ease :big-grin: and not "aggravate the hell" out of my elevator lol.
