I finally received the replacement to the replacement canopy for the Behemoth Yak (2). Six months later and I finally get to replace it. The first replacement looked as though it had slipped in the mold and the paint was really messed up in spots. Plus, I do understand a little trimming may be needed. But wow! Far bigger than needed. So, new one is here, I'll do a little fit trimming. Then do my own paint. 210 dollars later, maybe I'll get to fly the monster Yak again soon.

Now to measuring and re-measuring and re-measuring and... ugh.

I think I'm finally ready to mark the trim lines.

With the canopy pretty much lined up and lines drawn, I can now remove it from the hatch frame. Trim the excess, paint and after paint has cured I can permanently attach it to the hatch.

Project I’m working on for a buddy. Loosely based around the Flite Test simple scout but scaled up. Will be 56” span and hopeful weight of 50-55 ounces. If it’s lighter that will be great. Will be powered by a 220mah 3-4S setup so like a G15 sized Electric outrunner. Will have flaps and ailerons so we can mix them together for some real fun. Basically hoping for a nice easy flyer that you can cut up with a little. Using the ClarkY airfoil that I tweaked a little bit to have the lines I like. We are looking at having it laser cut by Carolina Custom Kits. If it does get laser cut the the wing will be able to be built and glued up without even breaking the plans out with the way I’m keying everything together and the only sheeting on the entire wing is the trailing edges. If anything I think it will look really cool when done.

Wow at that price you had better get it right the first time. That is one big canopy it has to be perfect being that big you can see everything. Will be nice once it is done ready to fly again.
