I got my combo "shop table test bed" outdoors today and gave the old DL50 a few flips. Viola! New A02 ignition works perfect :).

However. View attachment 108653 View attachment 108654 View attachment 108655 View attachment 108656 Whilst shaking down the engine and fuse all the servo arm screws came loose :concern:. Appears the 23T spline wheelst t I used to make my arms are way to soft of material. So I be going to hunt down some SWB or H9 arms with a 23T spline.
It’s always best to stick with what you know. That is why I always say the first season of a new plane is somewhat painful until you have everything sorted out and fixed and made bulletproof. Then the second season it is all fixed and the radio set up the way you like it, then you start to enjoy the plane.

Know exactly what you mean :). But technically.....I have had this plane for over three years now and still working the bugs out.
"Your not getting older...Your getting better" Just does not seem to fit me these days :lol2:.

Ran out of projects and waiting to see if a club member can still cut the parts I need for the 30 cc electric plane. So I pulled out the 20cc I just finished building and thought I would do the final radio install and setup the radio. Hopefully in a day or two it will be done and ready to go when spring arrives.

Last weekend at the field, I thought it would be easy to bind and fly the new to me Flex Cessna 170. After playing for an hour, I gave up and decided to worry about it later. Later turned out to be last night/this morning.

I decided the simplest thing to do would be to plug my laptop into the Aura and read all the settings on the Config Tool. While I was at it, I downloaded and installed the latest firmware. The fix was to change one setting where the previous owner had used a Spektrum receiver, while I’m using only Spektrum satellites. Many other options are possible by using this tool. Next is to get out and enjoy this fine aircraft, which will have to wait since rain is headed our way.

Welcome to the modern age, where the sophistication is increased, but the interface is simple, assuming you have a cable and a computer.

Based upon my limited experience, I can say that I could not have made the Aura work without plugging it into the computer, and using the Config Tool. Perhaps our resident expert @49dimes has some advice.

He is the expert on them and he has been kind enough to offer his help but I have not got that far. But the day will come and hopefully I can call him to help me get through the initial stage.

@WMcNabb @Snoopy1 Always willing to help and I don't consider myself an "expert" but rather a person who is determined NOT to let some gizmo kick my a## :beaten:. lol

The Aura8 comes either "pre-programmed" for the particular plane it is in or "open stock" . Open stock units lend them selves for any parameter to be custom set where "pre-programmed" units have certain features "Locked" and you can not change them unless you change the unit into an "open stock". An example of this would be the "orientation" set up for the plane the Aura8 has been factory pre programmed for. There are also other's but I would get long winded on it.

There has been a firmware update as well that insures both remotes are receiving the link when using the Aura 8 with only remote Rx's on mini ports a+b. Sounds as you got it worked out so kudos to being like me :attaboy:.
