Making some good progress and as you said it is starting to look a plane. I agree with gussets it just looks right and most likely 2 or 3 times stronger.
Looking at the pictures it sure looks nice and straight and square hard to do with a bunch of dowels

Some preliminary framing of the front of the fuse. Notched the steel to form the bend inward.

Hey guys

I’m new here, joined today. I apologize for hijacking this thread but this is the only forum that has an active thread covering Bob Nelitz’ 1/3 cub. I think most guys would be interested in what I have.

I have a question and just putting this out there to see if there is interest in what I have to offer. I have Bob Nelitz’ own built 1/3 PA-18, I purchased it off a member on rccanada a couple years ago and it’s changed ownership a few times since Bobs passing. Without much more info and any pictures yet, is this something someone would like to own?

What do you guys think?

Your going to need some pics for sure. Why not just post it up in the "Classifieds"?

Thanks for the replies guys.

It definitely is unique and a big part of why I haven’t listed it for sale yet, it’s not an airplane I can make a decision to sell easily. There are many points to list about the model including every detail in its cosmetic and mechanical condition if I am to sell. It will take some time to list it all and answer many questions from those interested.

I will take that advice and start a separate thread, it’s only fair. I’ll gather pictures and information and add it to the new thread that I will put up in the next few days.

The reason I ask was that there is not much surface area when gluing the flat gusset onto the round dowel. I thought the gussets were there pieces not one, is this something the kit cutter did? Or did miss read the drawing? Tried Titebond III once and didn't like but for some reason I believe it makes a stronger bond.
