X cub making progress

My x cub is coming along..Everything is great so far only thing is lower strut covers don't fit real good.. Also the tail wheel springs are different then the ones shown in instruction manual. There shorter and don't have tails on them like those shown,I guess I'm suppose to just stretch them on? She's a big Bird for sure..any advice on those springs welcome..Thomas

I would not cut or do anything to the springs. Just use some fishing line and connect it up. Once you have straight and setup the way you like just put a drop of CA on the fishing line to keep it from coming loose.

Yes I do both ends just easier than trying change the shape of the springs and I find springs are inclined to fail at the bending points.

Just a tip do the one side and stretch the spring to were you want it and then when you do the last one on the other side put rudder on center and pull the last one tight until the tail wheel is straight with the rudder.

I wanted to install Pr wheels but the owner sadley passed so not sure if they will ever be available...
Yeah, that is too bad. I snagged a used pair on another site for that reason.

You can try and find some AirTop tires. They make up to 8" tires. currently out of stock at Espirit and Topmodel, but the 7" are in stock.

Not sure how these would hold up to a plane this heavy, but I think folks are using them on the 120" TMB...

Don't have any rc56 glue thinking sigment or clear 100% silicone? Gonna be flying on water so silicone would seal good. There's plenty of lip on Windows and I'll scuff that surface good..any thoughts.
