Help! YS 120 oil question

Snoopy1

Cleaning up a YS120 but have run out of the special oil that is recommended by YS to fill the engine with for storage. Would anyone know what oil can be used that will not ruin the internal silicone gaskets and diaphragm of the shelf

Ultra Oil from Performance Specialties has always been the gold standard of oils for YS engines.I think they are out in Nevada. I have also heard of guys using good old Mobil 1.

Check with Richard at www.ysengines.us. He’s done all my service, and done it first rate. How long do you plan to store it? I’ve gone several year without anything special for off-season storage. I just send my engines to Richard every 3-4 years for a little tune-up.

Thanks for the info. This is just for winter storage 4 to 5 months. I like the idea of sending the motor in for a tuneup. They are pretty complicated. Is the cost for a cleanup and tune reasonably priced and how long does he need to do it. Thanks again for the help.
