    Welcome!

Anyone ever seen engine metal like this?

When pylon racing, I had a couple of engines ingest parts and they would pretty much keep running until something dislodged the glo plug element or there was a serious mechanical failure / lockup. It was amazing how long an engine can run even with serious things happening inside. You know when you go down on power but the thing just keeps on running until it finally quits.

I've sat behind a couple of V-8 racing engines that developed serious problems and likewise, though down on power, they just kept on running. You'd get back to the pits and wonder in amazement how the thing kept on going.

It seems that an engine really wants to run as long as it is getting ignition, fuel and a piston(s) that still moves in the cylinder.
