EF 48" Laser EXP

No sir. From the wreckage showing the servo out of the plane, I believe it was structural. The tail (and whole plane for that matter) is very well built, so I'm still head scratching.

Maybe some photos when you have a chance?

I'm sorry to see that. Unfortunately, the HS-65MG is not enough servo for that huge elevator if you're going to fly aggressively.

I agree Daniel. I started using the HS-85mg on my EXP elevators. Would have figured that would be "standard" now for the recommended Hitec setups, like it was on the 48" MXS I had. Actually, I think it even had the bigger servo slot if I remember correctly.

From what I remember with the Laser at least, the slot was just right for the 65 I had, but had to be widened for the 85. The worst part, I wasn't flying too hard, just pulling out of a turn. Maybe it was going to happen no matter what.

That is quite possible. A darn shame either way.

Please let us know what you find when you begin examining the equipment. Would be curious to know if the servo still works.

I just thought of one other thing. When I setup my 48" edge exp a few weeks ago, I tried using just the stock Savox arms all around, and while I had enough throw even on the elevator, there was a potential for the servo going "over center" and locking the elevator fully deflected. I ended up using the EF phonelic arm, but cut it down about 2mm to reduce the stress on the gears, but enough to prevent the elevator for over centering.

Any chance that could have happened with yours?
