    This is soooo not good!

After yesterdays successful maiden of the Sukhoi, I got to thinking about that monster motor and the way it ripped the prop so badly. I talked with Dave, @Planebender this afternoon and it was suggested that perhaps that prop is not the best choice right now. Maybe better for slower 3D but not...

    Iron-on coverings? Opinions?

Can't speak for anyone else, however from past experience my Ultracote covering jobs seem to hold the sun just a tad better. I had a plane that was covered from the manufacturer with Monokote. I could not keep it from blistering in the summer sun. Every time I took that plane home, I spent an...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

My thoughts exactly. I tried to stay out of it but it don't take much to break that prop loose. The motor is a beast. I have new Falcon 32x11. About the same difference as the 31x12? What do you think Dave?

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Personally, I love my 3w. But it seems to be a different kind of power. I am no guru by no stretch of the 'magination. I do like this GP. I would buy another any day of the week.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I quit complaining. After I seen the snow that Roger @Forgues-Research has. LOL....that would suck. As for pipes and cans? Yes, by far much better performance. On even my DLE 55 that is on my Pilot Edge, I gained 300 rpm. The thing about exhaust is that it is just as important to get it out...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

The GP has waaaay more power than I was expecting. I'm kind of used to tossing my Pilot Edge around and discovered this big Suk is as agile as the little 50cc'er. LOL.... Will take some getting used to. The field is our RC Club field. We just had the runway repaved not long ago. BLM land. No...

    Iron-on coverings? Opinions?

I think since they changed the adhesive formula on Ultracote, the edges do much better. I have not had any issues. Key point on edges, A little more heat than usually needed for the rest of your covering job.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Got the maiden in on the Sukhoi today. This thing is going to be a beast. Love, love, LOVE it already. This is the first and only flight so far. One click left aileron and she was good to go. Maiden day and a little playing around with my Hangar 9 3.1M Sukhoi SU26. I am so pleased with the GP...

Thanks.... thunderstorms all the way around me today. But 2mph winds I was not going to pass up. Got in the maiden and was about to try for a second when the skies decided otherwise. Oh well....another day. LOL

    Iron-on coverings? Opinions?

Bart, Ultra all the way. A few things about Ultra that Mono or even China can not even compare to. Smooth adhesion. Easy stretchability. The Ultra is a much more durable covering in all aspects. I have seen people put holes through wings in colder weather with Mono. The "ONLY" drawback to...

hangar 9 27% extra. the dumpster dive edition

Don't really think a twin will fit without cutting the cowl. I was thinking the same thing when I had mine. If you set up the rudder servo in the tail as I did mine, the extra weight is not an issue. The friend I sold mine to put a DLE 35 on it. It flew ok. Not spectacular but enough power for...
