    It's actually diamond plate covering. I really don't think it is going to help much for reflecting any heat. It is purely "bling".     I was actually very impressed with the DLE 170. Very strong and quite snappy. Loud? Hoa yeah.... I am sure they heard me 30 miles away over at my previous db monitored field. But do I care? Mmm, not so much.
