Went to the Rabid Models web site but couldn't find the pilots. You are coming right along.

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

Heck no! It would require complete disassembly to get it in my shop or two olympic weight lifters.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Forgot about this purchase. Seems like the tools always interfere with the live center, hopefully the extended and reduced diameter will help out. The one on the left was $15, had the one on the right since 2006. Got to stop looking at the computer and spend more time on the Cherokee!

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

I see that I failed to add the link. David your lathe is industrial, this is built like a hobby lathe, they do not provide the weight however a similar lathe with less travel is shown at 600 pounds, has the same shipping height and width, just shorter by the difference in travel. 10" of bed...

    Scale Sig 1/3 Scale Spacewalker

Randy, SAC offers a standard dash panel for the Spacewalker. You might check on the price. My previous attempts at making dash panels have ended in total failure. They are making a panel for my Cherokee currently.

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

This came up in email from AliExpress, 14" swing, 8" chuck, 2" spindle bore, both longitudinal and cross feed, 5 MT spindle, 3 MT Tail stock with over 3" of travel, only $1800!!!! What am I missing?

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Ordered this 5"four jaw chuck on Friday from Temu, it arrived on Sunday in a Vevor box? Have a 6" four jaw but it is a little too large and the DRO scale is in the way, when I use it need to cantilever the tools toward the chuck. The arpon and scale will fit under this chuck. Not a bad deal...

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% Piper Cherokee Glass Fuselage Build.

Just couldn't resist the urge to prime. It was sunny, by the time I got everything set up, it started to drizzle, moved from the backyard to the garage. Have some work to do on the corrugations, the primer brings out all the problems!

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% Piper Cherokee Glass Fuselage Build.

Had purchased a RB 25 redundancy bus for the Cherokee, it would everything that I wanted, triple receivers and dual voltage input. After doing a little research discovered that the fail safe is set in the redundancy buss and not in the receivers. Makes sense, however the buss is set with the...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Great find Nick. had a similar problem with an IBEC, now I measure the voltage down strean of the IBEC with telemetry. Snoop, seen a video that said you should cut slow enough that the foam melts in front of the wire, going to try that some day. The 1 pound virgin that I just cut was great but...

Discussion Kaos and UltraSport some info.

Why do I think the UltraSport had a thicker wing? Every Kaos I seen fly seemed to be a full throttle the whole flight, may have just been to pilot. Had a King Kobra with a piped Rossi 60, rarely used the throttle. EDIT Went to Outer Limits, the wing thickness on both are very close, about 18%.

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% Piper Cherokee Glass Fuselage Build.

I'm using US Composites 635 thin epoxy, it's about $100 for a gallon and hardener, you have three choices, fast hardener is a 4 to 1 mix and 4 hour cure, medium is 3 to 1 with 10 hour cure, and slow is 2 to 1 with 24+ hours cure. It was recommended by several people that are professionals in...

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% Piper Cherokee Glass Fuselage Build.

After the auction this morning came home and blocked the wings with 220 and put the second layer of 3/4 ounce cloth on. Tried something different, spread the cloth out on the wing, painted there lines of epoxy 1" wide down the span, then used a credit card to squeegee out the excess. More work...

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% Piper Cherokee Glass Fuselage Build.

Bought this seat from I Fly Tallies when I was building the Champ, decided it wasn't the right fit. Put it on the shelf. The seat looks like it belongs in a private jet. Found this photo of a 1966 Cherokee. Decided to see if I could make the seat work for the Cherokee. Sawed the bottom...
