Extreme Flight planes are incredibly durable and rigid, and are very well known for their ridiculously sized control surfaces and insane tumbles.

If you are on the email list - free shipping right now (WRAM Show) - I ordered the Black/Yellow

Just pulled the trigger on a blue one! Free shipping sealed the deal for me. I had a hard time deciding between the black or blue scheme. The black being out of stock helped that decision along, but I think the black in the Texas sun would have been trouble. So blue it is! I have a vinyl cutter, so it definitely won't stay stock.

Can't wait... Going to go with a Motrolfly DM 5335 on this one. I have 4 or 5 MF motors and they are awesome! I have a Hacker A60-6xs in my 74" Edge and it's been a PITA to get running right. Tried 3 CC controllers and finally settled on a Gecko.

Still need to piece together the rest of the components.

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised there isn't more activity regarding this plane. Seems like the 92" Edge is getting all the love... I already have the 74" Edge, so I didn't want the same airframe. I saw Joe fly the 50cc Yak and Edge at the Fly Low In here in Ft worth last year and was blown away with both planes! I think the Yak may have the edge over the Edge in yaw authority and I think that suites my style well.

I'll post lots of pics as I build.

Below is my current new toy... I plan on getting some good aerial footage at some of the fun fly's this year. Just heard no 3DHS Fly Low In for Ft Worth this year. Bummer...

Congrats on the Yak purchase. I remember flying them both at that FLI last year, and there wasn't much different in post stall to me. I'm sure you'll be really happy!

I also remember how good your 74 looked, so this will be a nice compliment to it.

I think the Yak is a good airframe for the motrolfly, so easy to get plenty of cooling air into the cowl.

Looking forward to following the build

Thanks! I have a Cortex Gyro in the Edge now and it is wicked smooth! I'm hoping the Wx is good tomorrow. I'm having Edge and Laser withdrawls...

I just got one of those gyros last week, hoping to try it out soon.

What other gear are you going to put into the Yak.

That gyro is awesome! Super easy to set up and flies great. I am working on a quick swappable plate system to make it easy to swap the Cortex over to different airframes. I'm going to cut the prototypes from G10 this week.

Yak is gonna get the new Motrolfly 5335 175 kv. I talked to Ken the other day and he suggested the new wind on a 24x12. I ordered the motor, so hopefully I'll get it this week. The airframe should be delivered on Tuesday, and I ordered 4 Hitec HS-7954SH servos from Chief Aircraft.

I'm going with a ZTW Gecko 150 ESC, and probably Hitec HS-7956SHR rudder servo. I need to order those this week. Not sure on the power dist. board yet. I need to read up on the Spektrum AR9110 to see if I need/want to go that route. This is the biggest plane I've done so far so I'm wading into unknown waters for me.

Xoar 24x10 and 24x12 to start on the props. Hardware, servo arms, etc. to be decided. I was hoping to get it flying by next weekend (I have the week off), but that's probably not gonna happen.

I may start a build thread here... The Poor Yak isn't getting a whole lotta love yet...
