I also heard this a month ago from someone who I trust, and they said not to say anything. I for one would think it would be awesome if they merged into one. If one of them just acquires the other one, then that would not be nearly as good.

It sounds far-fetched to me. But what keeps me from calling total BS on this is, neither of the owners have come forth and denied it. Now the thread is relatively new, and perhaps they've not seen it or had a chance to respond, but it seems to me there'd be fairly quick denials once news of this thread became known if the rumors were false.
