Well, I’m sad to report, this project came to a halt tonight. After getting off to a good start, I started to run into some problems. Terrible plans + no decent build thread or instructions of any kind + too many missing parts. I could have pushed forward but it would have taken the joy out of the process. Seems to be a common theme with the Ben Buckle kits in general. I did a lot of searching looking for a good build thread trying to make sense of the sketchy plans and lack of instructions. More often than not I ran into horror stories and people recommending to steer clear of the Ben Buckle kits. Guess they knew what they were talking about. Decided to cut my losses sooner than later. I saved all the dimensional lumber and what little hardware it came with. The rest met a fitting ending.

I actually feel much better now. I have a few other plans in various stages of completion to keep me busy. And they will be a lot less stressful.

No worries brother. We are good. After reading through lots of old forums, it seems to be the norm with Ben Buckle kits.
