Crimping Tool

What do you guys use for crimping your pull pull rigging? I have used a vise grip and a side cutter that I filed a flat on to not cut through. I am going to re-rig a plane and was wondering if it worth it to buy one of the ratchet crimps.

These. Work great. Have crimpers on them.

I use an electrical crimping tool to start. It makes a nice "U" shape and the squeeze the sides of the "U" together with a pliers. Works great. Something like this one. I use the "non insul" crimps.

Anyone use the fishing leader style crimps? They don't have the double pass through like we do but the crimps seem better made for crimping the wire

Yes that's all I use. I bought a spool of 80 pound coated Berkeley wire and the crimps that match.

Ground the edge off of old wire cutters.

Then Azar sent me some of the Secraft couplers for a review I was doing, no more crimping for me, I have bought them for every pull pull setup since.

Those are all I will use if I do a pull-pull anymore.
