Sleepy and Bart, take a look at Squareup.com. Not only are you able to run from an iPad/iPhone at a live event taking cash or credit (Visa,MasterCard, Amex, Discover), but a web store front comes along for free. All you need to do is flip a toggle for each item and it appears in your online store.
We run the museum store this way, so I can speak from experience when I say it works well!
