The Ultimate fuselage is back on the bench. Tonight I'm going to start wiring it. It's doubtful I will do any real wiring, just a lot of brain storming about what goes where and what I need to get it done. I've already decided to make my own aileron harnesses. None of the pre-made ones from Taildragger are anywhere near what I need.
This will have a Demon Cortex gyro and since it has 5 outputs I'm planning on the rudder, elevators and just the upper ailerons. I'll have a 6 pin Multiplex plug where the lower wing meets the fuse, and at the top and bottom of the wing struts.
The most difficult part of wiring this plane is making it serviceable. The fuel tank tray, where everything mounts, needs to be somewhat easy to remove because it has to come out to get the canisters out.
The cabanes are not green, the green is just reflecting onto them.

I decided I really needed to wire the wings first so I could finalize the strut wiring before I paint them white. I used multiplex plugs for the wing to fuselage connection and for the wiring that goes through the struts to the top wing. Because of the wing rib location where the strut bolts on I had to angle the sockets to get everything in. I also put some Hysol on the back of the fuel tank tray that was just CA'd together before.
Here are a bunch of pics. Sorry they are a bit random and not in order. The last picture shows the now Hysol'd in sockets of the upper and lower wing plugged together with the strut wire so I could test everything. It even worked!

It's been a bit, but the Ultimate is done! It left for it's home Thursday night. I still need to help him with the setup, and he's going to rig the rudder, do the baffling, and add some B&E graphics, but it's gone!
