I've recently started using SuperPhatic glue. I'm pretty happy with the results and it cures in about 15min. Still use CA for tacking, when I use a lot of CA, I end up setting up a small fan to blow the fumes away from me.

Thanks for the suggestion. I stopped using CA because of the fumes. I have a respirator that I use whenever I need CA like on cap strips for example. I will certainly give the SuperPhatic a try.

I would image with a Plane like the Spacewaker, if you start at one end by the time your get to the other end of the wing that the Titebond will be dry enough to remove the pins.

Looks like the NGH 38 will be a good fit size wise. Finished the left wing with the exception of the fiberglass wingtip.

Sawed thru the main spars to separate the outer and inner wing panels. Starting on the right wing tomorrow. Also found the Robart 1/4 scale Cub gear on RCG. I know the price is reasonable but not sure I want to spring for $185.00.

This is a post I found on RC Scale Builder.com
The 1/4 scale Cub gear fits nicely with a little modification to the mounting blocks. Looks much more scale than the supplied wire gear IMHO.

It’s been a while since my last post, what with the holiday season, end of year and COVID-19 it’s been a little hectic around here. Just got my first COVID shot and life looks like it might get back to normal. I can hardly wait to be able to go my local Hobby Shop. It’s amazing how many times I run out of something and have to wait for Amazon to show up. Since the last post progress has been made. Early on I decided to use 1/4 scale Robert Cub gear. Fitting the gear was very simple as the only modification needed was the replacement of the grooved landing gear mounts with a non grooved substitute. I could have just turned them over but the extra strength seemed worth while. The gear comes with rubber O rings as suspension. After mounting the gear it was obvious more ”SPRING” power was needed. I tried adding springs + the O rings and it was stil not enough. Fortunately, I had a set of struts from an old departed PA18. After a bit of reworking they are working great!

I inserted 1/4” balsa and wrapped in 3/4 oz glass.
