Sport Sport plane for a Kolm 150

Hopefully this will be a build thread for large sport plane. Bought the engine and then started looking for a plane for the engine. Could not find a plane, kit or anything that would fit the needs for a Kolm 150. So I have decided to draw up a plane to fit the engine. The only thing I could find to fit the engine was P51 mustang. Not something I want to start out with. Would like to run the engine for a season and get use to it and setting it up and tuning the engine.

It would be awesome if you could find one of these. I don't think they make them anymore. Maybe you can reach out to them and get the plans or a short kit? If I remember right they are located in Canada.

Here's one with a DLE-222 so I'm sure the Kolm 150 would work. Can't ask for a better test and tune platform than a good old ugly stick.

Ii hop to squeeze in a Roto inline 85 in my upcoming Tigermoth project. Maybe a Kolm 150 will fit………..

The biggest problem I have run into with the engine is it’s length and it weighs at 15 lbs.

Made some progress does not look like like much but it took some time and work. All the ribs are cut and the 8 spars are hand sanded down to fit the ribs properly.

Worked on the main spars for most of the day. For some reason when drawing up the spars I decided to taper the spar from the of the tube to the tip rib. Good idea at the time but not fun to do it was a lot of work tapering the spar from 1/2 inch down to 1/8 at the tip it is done but will not do it again.
