Well I was right, it's $700-800+. After reading about it, it's pretty neat. He said he designed it for vertical racing. "Imagine racing down the side of the Grand Canyon" interesting fact is Curtis Youngblood had the vision and built it the hardware, and his father wrote all the code for the controller. To me this is just incredible. A bit pricey for me, but incredible technology. It only has one motor, all of the heads are driven by a toothed serpentine belt, with servos at each head to run collective. If I had a chance to buy the stingray or the 3d quad for the same money, I would buy the stingray.

It came out a year ago I think and Curtis spent a lot of time developing it.

The reversable props is a much less expensive way to go, but had it's issues as you can see in the video with the delay to reverse everything. Also the props will be less efficient.

Reversable props are used in turbo props in full scale aviation, but the weight and complexity of the system prevents it from being practical in the scale we work in.

VPP is a big deal in indoor competition, but I don't think those systems scale up well.

Look what I picked up from greyhound! Can't wait to see what's inside... it is not a 50cc slick on case you were going to say that :)

Now I have to go bacK through your threads to see what non Red Wing Rc planes in the 75-88" range you still might have. Brian got a great plane, I live the way it looks better than almost any planes on the market today. That Dracula hood on the canopy is so cool. I am going to make that for my MXS.

So 3dNater what did you get from Gyro? Do tell, and save me all the guessing.

It is the Aerobeez 71" Extra 330 with the rudder on. Not sure you would have ever guessed it :p

Nope, I would not of. I hope that plane serves you as well as your AB Slick has. The slick has been a tank, and I hear the extra is very precise design.
