Nice looking planes but 102 is to hot for me. You better have good cooling for the engines, not left with a lot of head room for temperature gain.

Flew at a new field yesterday, Beaver County MAC, not far from East Palestine OH were the train derailment and subsequent burn took place several years ago. Nice field, not many obstructions, plan to join the club, 42 miles away, 38 on Interstate 76 so it will be the shortest travel time of the three clubs I belong to.

Flew my Taylor Craft again today. Well all I can say after a long a tedious start the plane is flying great, sorry on pictures forgot the camera at home. Still have to do a little mixing with the flaps and rudder but other than that it is a keeper. The DA120 is a great engine runs clean and lots of power.

Just added a throttle/flap mix to the Super Cub, at half flap the flaps begin to retract above 1/2 throttle and begin retracting at 1/3 throttle when at full flap. Don't need to worry about switching the flap switch on a go around. Once a gentle climb is established, then the flaps are switched off. Couldn't make it work the way I wanted with offset so a curve was used for each mix.
Also added a down elevator mix to the flaps, it is amazing how little elevator is required to improve the flap deployment, 3% is about right.

My club is 55-60 minute drive. I should check the distance someday.

Build is a fun option. And air conditioned!!

When the weather is good (330+ days a year here) we go play. Besides, we don't have AC garages so they're just as warm as outside.

Fun fact, all of the DA engine development has taken place at the club I fly at. They run great, even when it's 115F outside.

Also fun fact, we don't have humidity here (except for rain) so a typical day is less than 20% humidity. Even when it's triple digits here we don't come close to the heat index of some of you in greener states where it could be the same humidity percentage as the temperature. 😵‍💫

We did manage to get some rain the past few weeks- it gets cold here when it rains!!
