Spent last night finishing an inventory of HO locomotives that were left to me and two others. The grand total is 266.

Next is the many hundreds of box cars, cabooses and other rolling stock.

The good news is that this baby is most likely coming home with me.

Luckily Carl, our friend that passed and left it all to us, was VERY neat and orderly and a great modeler. It's also a major plus that his wife is super, and is in no hurry for us to make it all go away.

Well, there are a few things that each of us want for ourselves, but everything else will be sold in time. At least we hope.

He started it in 1967. He designed the house for it and started construction of the layout before he and his wife were moved in. He was serious about his model railroading!

At Christmas time every year a local hardware store sets up a huge railroad display. I think it's in the ballpark of 30'x80'. He designed it as a pretty modular setup and adds to it every year. Did a lot of local stuff on it as well. Put the local drag strip on it and when asked he flips the drag strip switch on his control board at which time you get to hear the sounds of a burnout and smoke start coming from under the two cars in the burnout box.
