Looking at adding headers and canisters to my DA 120 and even though they are used that seems like quite a cut on the headers.

20 years ago I bought a ZDZ 80 RV, pipe, and JMB can at the Toledo show from RC Showcase, I was instructed not to cut the pipe as it was quarter wave tuned, I followed the recommendation and built the can into the plane. The package was very effective. Sold the plane at auction this past fall. That said I have installed other cans without worrying about the header length.

Ok I could not resist I have, always wanted one just never happened for some reason. I stumbled onto this plane and I just had to buy it it’s old but not oil soaked and in reasonable shape. Putting a new motor in it new servos and seeing if I like the plane. If it is as good as everyone makes it out to be, it will flown for this season and then completely rebuild this coming winter striped glassed and painted. Sorry it is 52 inch WS Khaos.

Interesting info! I was always told that it only matters for pipes. Always learning on here

Ok after this many years at this hobby I still haven’t learned. Bought a second hand Kaos just because I wanted one. The plane is in good shape but it needs a lot of work. The engine mount was butchered and I could not get a OS46 fit no matter how hard I tried. The next thing happened see the picture now I can fit anything thing I want.
Just hope the weather stays cold for a couple of weeks so tha I have enough time to finish the plane to fly.

I sent my DA120 in for service and found some used canisters and headers in the meantime. My 2nd (bigger) hobby room at my shop is awesome for bigger planes. Remounted the engine, added the canisters, reassembled everything and headed for the airfield….

Today was very windy (hard cross wind but only one more weekend before my knee replacement. I needed some flying time…
