Will it be lighter than covering or paint?Tyler/ I might use 1 whole roll of alum, and have been told its a tad more than paint. But because its a warbird the extra weight is nothing but a few more MPH in a dive. They tend to fly better also/ not so jumpy. I think just this bird will need a couple pounds in the nose to balance and should come in around 26 pounds when completed.

Thanks Rog, I heard the New Years fly in yesterday was mostly just some coffee drinking. Not much flying.
Thanks for the post on the choke rod and looking forward to a shop talk in a couple weeks. I heard you have a couple new EF planes to build this winter!!!

Later
Im stuck working today:mad:

Thanks for the info...... I really like how it looks with that aluminum finish, you definitely should get some scale points for that! LIFELIKE!

I finished my aluminum this weekend and now is time for servo's and landing gear install in the wing. I installed the wing tip lights last night and am really surprised how bright they are. The family and I are heading to mickey world in Orlando late this week so no building for a bit. I do plan on calling Herve to have a look at the sukhoi and maybe handing him some $
Cant wait! This weather blows:cheers:

Its been a while since I posted on the Jug, but I have been just kind of poking at it in my shop.
All of the wiring and servo set ups are complete and tucked away.
The tail wheel retract/ gear doors probably took 40 hours from me, but they work awesome.
I spent the day cutting, painting and fitting the dummy radial engine from Frank Tiano enterprises.
It's made from resin so there is also some weight with it that will be needed later.
I used 1/8 inch wood dowels from the local lumber yard for the push rods and finished it with some
chrome paint.
Other than that, I should have some decent progress photos in the next couple weeks of the Jug.
Ready for the slide decals on the cowl and the main landing gear and finish it up with the stars and bars.

The PAU Sukhoi had its maiden yesterday and was a blast!
