Scale MattyMatt's Exclusiv Modellbau 50% Challenger II

MattyMatt

70cc twin V2
I've been at events every week since the end of April until the first week of June. I also started a new position at work, so time has been limited.

I haven't posted, but the challenger is almost done. Just been wiring, cowl baffles... Crap like that. I have to get it all together and check the CG, mount batteries....Within the next week it will be done.

I'll get some pics later this week. I have to say. She's purdy.

I have a bunch of ground testing to do and want to run the motor a little more before it goes in the air.

Sorry for the long delay, F3S contest, Joe Nall, First in Flight Jet Rally, CCRC open house, and VA Jets... Then hit the road for work... But I have been working slowly on the challenger.

She is close. I setup the stab flying wires, ran two tanks of gas through the smoke pump, and got it all together to weigh and CG. I'm using the new Xicoy CG meter, and is awesome. I'll go more into that tool in an article.

So, great news... First weigh in and she's 55.6 lbs, full of fuel! That's much lighter than I thought it would be. Tomorrow I'll run the motor a bunch to setup the fuel pump and the smoke system and check the CG... I hope I don't have to add any weight, but I'll know tomorrow.

I just watched the video on that xicoy CG machine.

I must say I am intrigued...I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the device. Looks cool and ought to be accurate (at least as accurate as your measurements for Lg and ballast locations are). Sure beats trying to balance a large heavy model on the wings.
