Mar. ‘24…Wing framing and tiling the wings. Needed a genius solution for holding the sheeting until the glue dried, and had tiles lying around. Worked well!

Progress slowed after March and work got super busy. Also had a few jobs around the house.

Bought something to play with at the field in August, which is a ton of fun! Programmed it to have full span ailerons or flaps with ailerons. Can’t add crow without upgrading the receiver to more channels, but that’s ok.

What are the weights in photo 3136?
Those would be sheets of tile like you would use on a shower floor. Because the smaller tiles are retained on a net backing, they easily flow around an airfoil shape.

This was pure coincidence. I was looking around the shop, spied them in the corner and thought why not give them a try. A sheets of thin foam and bubble wrap protect the balsa.

That a good tip!
The tiles come in sheets of 12”x12” with the individual tiles measuring 2”x2” and 10 sheets in a box. Easy to handle and allows for the right amount of weight. Seem to recall using an entire box on the one wing!

Adding to the supply list…

Wing connector set - EFL-1340 - which borrows from Horizon Hobby’s Super Timber - link HERE. Both aileron and wing servos as well as lights connect using alignment pins.
