IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

Quick question, why is 330 in the name?

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

Back plate for the canopy is now glued to the canopy frame. I also got the sheeting for the front of the hatch cut and glued together. I'm going to wait for my fuel tank to arrive from EF before I glue on the sheeting. The tank is longer than the fuel tank tray in the plane so if I use it...

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

Well, the stringers for the hatch are glued in. I also got the last piece of 1/4 spruce installed. I'll probably get some more and maybe add in a few pieces to help brace the canopy. I'm also debating about how much I should sand the canopy back plate down by. I can sand it down some more to...

Pilot Figures, What do you Like?

Looking for a pilot figure for my Dalton 300. What do you like and where do you get them?

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

I ordered a dash panel and fuel tank from Extreme Flight this morning. I tried one of the Flow Master tanks in my EF Edge and I love it so it was a no brainer when I was deciding what I wanted to put in the Dalton. It's 1/2" taller than a DuBro so it should fit fine.

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

The last little bit for today was getting the corner braces in for the canopy hatch. I also went and got some stone paint to dress up the inside of the hatch with. Are there any build threads for dash panels?

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

So I'm still trying to decide if I want to mess with the pipe tunnel. I looked at some other threads and saw how they did their pipe set ups and I'm leaning that way. Because of this, I started working on the canopy hatch. Thankfully when I went to the LHS yesterday I picked up some 1/4"...

    SOLD! TREX 600N with Parts

For sale is a TREX 600N LE that has been converted to flybarless using an RJX Head. I have just finished going through this heli and checking everything. This included greasing the thrust bearings and checking all of the bearings for smoothness. I replaced the clutch and rebuilt the motor. I...

Price for each of the 272's is $95 shipped in the USA or $335 for all 3 shipped in the USA. Price for the 256 is $90 shipped in the USA. Price for the 274 is $110 shipped in the...

Older 3W and DA for First 40%er

Yeah I'm going to see if I can find a clean used DA 150/170. If I can't find something that I'm in awe of, I'm just going to wait and get a new DA/3W 170, ZDZ 180, or maybe a GP 176 EVO. I'm not in any rush right now. I'm also hoping I can get my 600N and the heli servos I have sold because...

IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

I contacted Tony about this years ago and I think he recommended something like a 98" bench. Now @orthobird would be better to confirm what length you need. If you're a little short you can always get a nice piece of wood that's consistent like MDF or cabinet grade plywood ($$$) and then use...

IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

I've been meaning to look through the other build threads to see what's the best way to do the landing gear. I'll probably start by making a plywood plate so if I use the included gear or go with something else I just need to mark it.

Older 3W and DA for First 40%er

Cool, how much are you wanting for it?

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

The current weight of the tunnel is 6.3 ounces so let's say 7 pounces once painted and installed. What do you guys think? Install it or scrap it and do something else?

Older 3W and DA for First 40%er

I had a 3W 56 years ago. I do know the Tillotson can be harder to tune but I'm confident I can handle it.

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

So I'm starting to think about buying a motor for this plane. There are 2 options. 1) Keep saving and buy a brand new motor (DA 170, 3W 170, GP 176 EVO, or ZDZ 180) or 2) Buy a used older motor for less than half the cost I started a thread on this in the Engines forum. Please feel free...

Older 3W and DA for First 40%er

So I've found a couple used and even one new older engine that I'm thinking about buying for my Dalton 300. They're mostly DA 150, 3W 150, and 3W 157. I know buyer beware when buying second hand motors but what do you guys think about going this route to begin? I could always save up and buy...

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

My back was bothering me yesterday so I just finished up the cross bracing and called it a night.

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

Well, I had to help the ball-n-chain rearrange a room tonight. I also got my new heli in the mail so I only got 1 more cross brace glued in.
