    Filling gouges and scratches in balsa

    Dents,gouges,and scratches can be removed by spraying water onto the area and then use a very hot iron to steam them out. It won't work if there is balsa missing though.

    I usually do the tubing also,starting with 1/4 to remove old hinge then use a 5/16 tube to make some plugs for the holes using some 1/2 thick scrap balsa then use gorilla glue and push the plugs in and after they have dried use a 5/32 tube to make a correct size hole for the new hinge.

    Wow your carb really sucks....Lol It's amazing what can get in and cause all kind of headaches. All it takes is a piece of dirt in the wrong place to cause problems.

    I've had good luck using air line tubing,you can get it in allot of different colors too. I have been attaching it with the colored Dubro swivel links with a piece of all thread.
