Discussion Kaos and UltraSport some info.

I thought I read the SUPER kaos and US were the same wing. Another thread I read mentioned the added US fuselage height helped with KE. My flying buddy that passed away had several dirty birdies I took to the dump. I tried to break the wings in half and could not do it. I'm sure they could...

I feel ya! Been hard to find “free time” with the kiddos but I managed to get a blessing from my wife to tune a couple engines. One being the timbers DLE55RA that ran like a clock. The other one however had me chasing my tail since last fall. One day it wasn’t running quite right, which is odd...

She lives!! Couple minor richening tweaks and she’s running like a top! Forgot I have one puncture repair and some tree sap to clean off of the wings though.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Nope! 100% new for me It’s only $64!!! Direct from radiomaster took a couple months…. I was going to get a zorro until balsadust turned my head towards this one. I got the CNC gimbals to put on later as well. After learning about ELRS protocol and how some of the big brands have been holding...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Well looky here what finally decided to show up. RadioMaster Pocket Radio. Excited to give it a whirl. This will be used for my slope gliders and other micro stuff. It has quite a following and it actually feels quite nice and ergonomic. More to come on that later!

Got my carb rebuild kit in and replaced the gaskets, looked quite clean in there! Mounted the engine and put the cowl and prop on. Need to finish a few oddball ends and give it a good preflight. I changed one elevator servo that burned up while holding on for dear life up the tree a while back...

Thanks Mike! Excited to get this plane airworthy again. Decided the tailwheel could use some new plastic. Went ahead and printed my design in ABS plastic. ABS stinks, but boy is it light. Came out pretty good too!

Recovering complete!! How awesome is that!? This blue really disappears in itself, meaning the seam lines are seamless. I cheated a lot with my otter build…. Yeah I need to finish that too… Just need to remount the motor. But since it’s off, Ive got a carb rebuild kit in the mail that should...

Nice work! My personal preference is to put the IBEC on the opposite side of the ignition module for any unwanted incidental EMI that may find it's way over.

    Engine temperature sensor.

The aft cylinder is always a tad hotter. It's usually closer to the firewall and has a bit less airflow.

Made a few gussets (laser cutter helped here) and this alone stiffened up the rudder more than the sections that are covered. So guess what’s next! Wohoo cover time.

I’m feeling pretty good about it. The break was just above the hinge but canted enough to make a decent splice there. The aft webbing is comprised of four different sheets at different bond points. If anything I’ll be putting in some splices and gussets.

Started tinkering with the rudder. Started with an epoxy bond using some paint sticks to keep it aligned as best I could. Then found some balsa sticks to stitch it back together. Going to add some reinforcements and then sand and cover.

My pleasure! I haven't printed it yet, I could do a test piece sometime to make sure it will work. AJ Aircraft is a nice family owned company. I spoke with Tim Jeskey (Andrews father) at Joe Nall and told him thanks in person for taking the time to double box and ship my 73" laser to Alaska...

Alrighty, here is a 3D model (.stl) for the lower air dam. It's quite thin and light. Couple cosmetic issues during my 3D rendering but overall pretty minor. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6975428
