Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Yesterday was a good day flying. Met a couple buddys at the field with my daughter and we got her flying for the first time. 100" Avistar running a T-motor AM670 combo that's been performing amazingly. She was happy after two flights but that didn't stop the fun. She did really well too. only...

    Scale BUSA Super Cub

So I would say from what I have been taught that it actually isn't all that well baffled. You want to take a full scale approach. What I see is the air is being scooped into the cylinder head top and bottom but has no way of getting out easliy thus keeping the hot air around the cylinders. I...

Fredericksburg field is a great place to fly. I thought about attending but the only plane I have that can somewhat count as a warbird is my EF Turbo Bushmaster in the scale Army camo scheme.

Yes Terry did an amazing job on the T-cub. That one is a little too big for me though so I'm awaiting the 6S version.

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Spent some time today at the field with my new EF 60" Slick 580. Oh man this plane really surprised me. I was expecting a wild child and when the sticks are in the corners it certainly is but otherwise i was amazed and how smooth and precise this airframe flew.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Been working on this old balsa usa 1/4 scale cub for a friend. He wanted it converted from glow to gas and he picked up a Zenoah g23 cheap. I wish I was able to convince him to go with a DLE20 or something though. Sucked having to cut into the molded engine and exhaust to fit it around the giant...

More vinyl cutting happened yesterday and did up my 67" Extra 260. Very happy with the outcome. Then mind the mess but a before and after from inside my shed of replacing the old flourecent lights with justa cheap set of LED strip lights off of amazon.

Yes so far I have just used the free Cricut software. The Extreme flight logo I was able to locate a clean PDF image in the files section on the FB owneres group. Used an online background remover and then could import it into the software. Next I'm working on the graphics for the 67" Extra 260...

Finally did some float flying with the 84" TBM. Very nerve racking at first as the pond I'm flying from at work at its narrowest spot is only 125' wide.

    89" SkyWing Laser 260 V2 Assembly Thread

There isn’t a ultracote code for it. Skywing makes their own covering. Reach out to extreme flight as they can get you spare covering.

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

Picked the saw up today. Top for sure needs a little love but I think it will make one great saw for my shop. 3HP 220v motor. Based off the serial number it was made in 1985 so it shares a birthday with me. Will see if I can get it cleaned up and looking before the end of the year. I will plan a...

Yes, Delta Unisaw's are very nice units. I glad to be adding one to my shop. It will need a good restoration though.

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

While it's not a mill or a lathe I will be picking up a new to me table saw tomorrow from a coworker. Older Delta UniSaw that came out of the quality department at the Georgia Pacific plant he worked at years ago. Only thing its ever done is rip 4x8 sheets of OSB in half for testing. It's sat in...
