DA Ignition Question

I bought a used DA 170 and noticed there are no springs inside the cap that make contact with the plug and the noise suppression resistor. Never have come across this and am guessing they are missing. Thoughts?

Sometimes the tiny, thin spring is not visible. You might try pushing the silicone insulation back a bit with some kind of blunt tool and see if it comes into view. Other than that, caps are fairly easy to replace at a reasonable cost.

No spring anywhere. I'll order new caps and replace this ignition with a new unit and keep this as a spare.

Sometimes it is just the little wire that comes off the resistor inside the plug cap that makes contact to the plug.

I will be running the engine tomorrow and see how it goes. I ordered another ignition from DA yesterday as well as a cap rebuild kit for this one. I'll post when I run the engine.

Didn't take the time to try and run the engine today, weather here has been quite nice the last few days so went flying instead!
