Joe Nall 2016 Video from Rolling Circle

It's been about exactly a month since we arrived at Nall.

Now here I am back and finally finished taking about 4 hours of high energy video and chopping it up in little pieces that are hopefully going to keep your eyes glued to the screen for the next 10 minutes or so. I hope you enjoy it very much. Now I can get back to building planes, chilling out and flying the rest of the events this summer (and this summer I will throw a little scale-pilot training in as well). I will upload the same vid with better resolution later on. Rendering went a lot faster on this setting.

I hope everyone out at XFC is having a good time. Tear it up. Slow roll the whole field WOT once, for me!

Thank you very much, Chris!!! I don't know if you saw last year's vid but this one was twice as long and took a LOT longer to edit LOL...

The 3D line really supported us this year. Quick story here exclusive to GSN...

First night at Nall this year, we were flying at the 3D line's gazebo until late. I left my transmitter at the gazebo and went to the RV and took the foamies. Went back for the radio and it was gone. I figured we put it in the trailer and would get it charged in the morning. Time to crash after the long drive, right? It's 1 a.m.. Been up since 5 a.m.. Got up charged planes and went to lunch. Came back and looked to go fly and couldn't find the radio. No transmitter anywhere. That night, ran into a guy who was flying the first night at the gazebo and he denied knowing anything about the radio. He said he hadn't even been drinking that night which was funny because we watched him drink more than a couple beers while flying foamies. Funny thing, we were nice to him and his friends. I even went back to the RV to get them some prop washers that he said they had a hard time finding for sale. Anyway, throughout the week he asked if we had any luck finding it. Not much flying for me all week. We borrowed a radio, bound a couple planes and tried to get them trimmed and it was a struggle. One flight on my 104 and the servo arm completely stripped on the rudder. Flying on lights at night with Curtis announcing a flight that was just some trim passes (LOL), my canopy came off. Couldn't win for losing.

So anyway, the point here is that we had been talking to Wes all week. Wes runs the 3D line last couple years at Nall. The word got around that the transmitter was stolen and that we weren't able to fly much. The kind people on the 3D line all pitched in and gave me over $400 towards a new transmitter. I know, right? Holy crap... that had to be like from everybody on the whole line. They gave it to us a a pilots meeting on Wednesday morning I think it was.

So here is the kicker.... On our last night at Nall 2016 (Friday), the kid comes to the bon-fire and says I just put your radio back in your trailer. I didn't really have anything to say. Speechless... I said thanks for not keeping it and mentioned how many mixes and how much time it saved us that he returned it. All the models etc... And he left... Sooooooooo, we got the transmitter back and I donated all of the money that the 3D line gave us to Triple Tree.

What a crazy series of events. Not a good Nall but it is what it is. I just wanted the kindness of those people to be returned to where it came from. I know they meant to help us so much. And, having gotten the transmitter back, it was an opportunity to help give the love back. I can't thank everyone enough for their generosity.

Some of you were there and can validate this I know but may not have heard the whole story to the end. I thought I would share it.

That's crazy, I never knew that was going on. Glad to hear you got the transmitter back, and can bring home another crazy-interesting story from Nall :way_to_go:
