The Dan Gray Memorial Big Bird

Hey Everyone, as you might have known, this past weekend in Bryan Texas, BVRCC had there annual Bird Bird fly in. This year, the name of the event has changed to the Dan Gray Memorial Big Bird. Dan Gray was the CD for the past many years. The Club lost Dan in January of this year, and he is truly missed by them all. I my self never got the chance to meet him, but i have heard a many of great stories from club members, and to hear it from them, he sure was good ad making this event every year one of the bests! In honer of his memory, the Club has decided to change there field name from Brazos Valley R/C Club, to the Dan Gray Memorial Flying Field. I had the pleasure to attend this event this year and it sure was a great turn out! I do not recall the number of registered pilots, but there were MANY! The pilot meeting was at 9 am on the dot, but by 7:00 am, there were already planes buzzing in the air! Defiantly something great to wake up to. I didn't get around to taking many pictures, but here are some that i took, as well as fellow friends/pilots have taken!

It was, we all had a blast! The weather was hot and muggy here in Texas tho, but Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day
