Scale Plans built P-51

Hey, Roger:
The printed plans that I used to build my Nosen P-51 cost $170. Providing these plans for free is truly appreciated, and I'm quite sure I'm speaking for everyone who benefited from your generosity. Thanks for sharing!!
No problem, they cost me quite a bit, but because of all the different projects I have on the go, I might never build it, and because of Doss Steed no longer being with us, I just wanted to make sure to keep them alive, I would like though , whoever is building from these plans , to show some work , just a thought , no you don't have to , I'm simply interested

Do any of you know who this Bartman guy is? I know I've seen the name somewhere, but I just cannot put my finger on it. . . . . . .. You know I'm kidding @Bartman , right? This site hasn't been the same since you were at the controls. I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way, either. FYI, I did finally find a suitable plane to put the big 3Dub I got from you in. The only problem is I have to build it and like you, I'm so busy with work and life it ain't funny. . . . . :cryin:. It's good to see you around these parts again, my friend. . . . . :yesss:.

Now back to our regularly scheduled build thread. My apologies to @Red Raider for the off-topic post.

Defender of the Noob!
now that I have sent quite a few sets of drawings, its time to build an airforce LOL
what's funny is, after spending a few nights in a row to rehab the old GP Christen Eagle I picked up at a swap meet ($75!!), I'm back in the old habit and looking forward to another project. I don't know if I can commit to the cost and time to build the Mustang but I have a lot of balsa and aircraft plywood so maybe instead of a build thread, I'll start a kit thread to honor your high quality plans Roger. Best I can do at the moment and thanks again.

You're making me blush but thanks. Glad to see you guys that stuck around are maintaining the high standards we figured out back in the early days......the dark, unstable, somewhat chaotic, and slooowwwww, early days. :dancing-chicken:

So if you have a big "dub" and no home for it to reside, perhaps it needs to come visit its brothers here in the Epley hangar?! I am certain I can help it to feel "appreciated". laughing-smiley-face.gif

Yes. They’re for sale on rcuniverse. George’s avatar is ”warbirdbuilder”. You’ll have to search for it because I don’t remember where he posted them. He calls them “Nosen-(not).

Did some more work on the Mustang yesterday. I mentioned that wingswestrc sent me a sample of their paint. I shot it on the wing center section and it’s everything they said it was. So I decided to repaint the fuselage. Good news - bad news. I started out just to remove the grit from the acrylic paint. Then as you know, color paint shows up the flaws, so I started working to remove all the small epoxy runs and pills. After about 3 hours of constant work I thought it was good enough, so i started wiping it down with a wet terry cloth towel. I found a small spot right on the top behind the cockpit, so I grabbed a piece of 220 wet/dry and it easily just melted away. Hmmm, right here on top I better wet sand this whole section. 3 hours later, the section was the whole fuse!!
