Well the Decathlon is running good now cannot really tel the exactly what fixed it but it is running good and is ready to go to JoeNall. Changed multiple things each one made a little improvement to the stalling but did not get rid of it so just kept at it. The last to 2 things that was done to the plane changed the spark plug and that helped again then did a little tuning again and all of sudden everything was good agin. These engines can be finicky at times and not always make sense.

I'm still fighting/cursing, etc. at the install of my DLE30 in my H9 Beaver.....can't find the standoffs and have tried a few other methods. Guess I will have to bite the bullet and buy some new standoffs.

This is why my builds take so long... Living in Alaska I'm limited to my options and shipping is ridiculous. I've seen guys use solid turnbuckles from the hardware store for standoffs. I would personally find the one you want and order it. What size standoff are you looking for? Evolution makes some neat ones.

Thanks for lead on Chief Aircraft....for some reason I rarely go there (cuz I would spend too much:)). Wood dowels sound like a good idea! Thanks.

I have been using the chrome steel spacers from D & B for quite some time. I even paint them to match or offset the color if I am so inclined. Pretty inexpensive compared to store bought standoffs. And the nicest thing about them is that you can get thicknesses from 1/8" all the way up to 1".

My son and I made it a four cylinder day today. Not as in two planes and four cylinders. More like two planes and four cylinders "each". double-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon.gif
My son and his PU....I....I, I mean PAU 126" Edge with DLE 222. He went through it a couple of days ago because it was just not running like it used to. We discovered some "seeping" gaskets and a few other things. He updated the reeds to the double set up like most people do. Bought all new gaskets, plugs, reset the ignition timing and reset the carbs. Holy smokes, talk about a difference. That thing "RIPS" a Falcon 32x12 like it was a 20x6. I told him today he needs to consider a 33x11w like I have on my Dub 212. Speaking of the Beast quad, holy smokes how much fun is this plane to fly! More I fly it, the more I just love it. And that 212cs is an amazing animal to say the least.

A few photos from todays shenanigans. Harriers, hovering, rolling circles, pop-tops, (Yes, my Chihuahua is very jealous) And though no photo was shot at the moment, my sons "HIGH" speed inverted pass over the run way. Like father like son huh? LOL

Man I feel for everyone at Joe Nall. Mr. Pat and the TTA volunteers have moved forward with the decision to cancel the 2018 Joe Nall event due to impending weather. The forecast is for a very slow moving storm cell to roll up into camp and park itself right ontop of the grounds for the next 5+ days. With this storm cell is an expected 5+ inches of rain which means the entire lower facility faces unprecedented flooding. The decision was made early this morning that everyone needs to be completely off of the TTA grounds by 12pm on Tuesday, 5/15.

I feel so bad for some of my buds, especially SupaTim, who drove 2800 miles one way to setup and vend.
