I like 'em "BIG"!
Got some new batteries from Revolectrix and they came in these goofy plastic containers. Strange.

Damn I'm hungry
Well, that is rather anticlimactic if my picture isn't going to show up...

It is the Flex Innovations "Thanks for your Order" page... I got the Cap 232 EX Night version. @49dimes You made a believer out of me for getting it. I'm excited to try this guy out after the kids and wife go to bed and the wind is down and not 100 degrees outside...

I think your gonna LOVE it . I am going to get a wing tip light kit that lights the plane up from the outside. Possibly do a canopy light system too like the big boys do :big-grin:. FYI..... Mine came with the most recent "updates" to the Aura 8 (V1.6) so I simply use two DSMX remotes plugged in directly to the Aura. I strongly recommend you get the "updated" version of the Aura Tool. It's free from the Flex site.

A little break from the 330 for a couple of days. But I promise to get back on it. In the meantime I decided last evening to take another gander at the 112" Don Smith Stang plans.
View attachment 103699 When i first committed myself on this bird, I wasn't sure of the engine I would be using. That was "YEARS" before I made the discovery of my love/lust for the red headed beasties. Let's fast forward to present day. Unless I win the lottery... (or marry a filthy rich red head) I highly doubt anything other than a dub 110cs inline twin will be the power plant for this project. And even that will be half a months wages. Sheesh...!! But that is set in stone, so let's take a look at a minor modification. The plans show and the plane was designed around a 5.8 gas engine. At roughly 95cc, the 5.8 would do fine. Except, I want the 110cs for the emergency power. Lol. Clearly the 5.8 fits very nicely in the nose.

The modification I will need to make is setting the firewall back far enough to accommodate the length of the inline red headed beast dub. At 249.5 mm, (9.8 inches=9-3/16") it will be necessary to allow for the extra length.

Simple task, right? Guess we'll find out.

I'd forgotten just how big this bird will be. A 3" tailwheel and a stab at nearly 40" tells me right quick she won't be no glow (shudder) sized warbird.

Heck, even the instrument cluster will be over 8" wide.

One definate issue I plan to address is the "auw" of this beast. I've been told the Plane "should" build around 45-52 pounds. At the size of a 35% 100cc'er, one would think it would be possible to hit the scales at or around 30ish pounds right? Ah, but this is a warbird. They build heavy. I talked to two separate individuals that have built this plane and they smashed their scales when the 75 pound tanks hit them. Ugh. Yeah, that ain't gonna happen. Sooo... I am setting out with one thought in mind. To scale her in at the less than 40 pound mark. Ready to fly less fuel. I feesibly think it's possible. I'm sure it will depend on just "HOW" over board I go with the build. And that...we will start finding out in a couple of months. Once the Velox is done and all other irons in the fire are removed, I will start my winter build project... a few months early. Lol.

So get ready fellas. Build thread up and coming soon. Exclusively only to Giant Scale News!!
I'm in!:brian-banana:

Ok I am in on this would not miss it for the world. And yes it is a big plane. Going to enjoy following this build something else than a 3D type plane. Will be interesting to see how you try to keep the weight of the plane. And one thing I noticed is9.8 inches is a little more than 9 3/16 but you have your finger in correct location on the ruler. The only question I have rightly now is it going to be painted.

Both came stored at 14%, Quality seems legit. Purchased them from the China Warehouse since the USA warehouse is very limited. They shipped two at a time (four purchased) via FedEx.
Pulse Batteries are out of stock on certain types I want for quite some time, so I opted to give these guys a try.

You will not be sorry. I would buy only them if I could but when I try to buy from them they redirect me to a Canadian distributor and he jacks the price up to almost double, and that is the reason I have not been able to get anymore since then.
