After more than 2 hours of sanding and cutting, the first baffle is glued in place!
That looks good but for just an air baffle why would you build it so sturdy, out of light ply. Like the engine have you run the engine and what do think of it.

I have the 18SZ,aluminum sticks w/plastic gimbles I'm pretty sure. 2100 LiFe $1.3k no case (used to be $1.1K)
the 18SZ 70th Anniversary is all aluminum. It had the price drop. . . But still more $$ than the regular 18SZ. 2100life $1.6K case incl
18MZ has aluminum sticks and plastic gimbles. 3500 lipo $3K case incl
16SZ aluminum sticks, plastic gimbles. 1800 NiMH $820 no case

My thoughts are the 18SZ 70th is a stellar radio, still spendy. The 16SZ is a great radio and you can buy a LiFe and change the settings to accommodate it for a lot cheaper.

FWIW There is another Graupner 32MZ that just got listed on the other site for $1K.

Thank you for the reply.

I am looking too now. But I am going to stay with the Spektrum stuff. What you get for the money IMO is what counts the most.
DX9 or iX12? Leaning towards the 9 but that 12 has my curiosity up. I can dial up some Fog-Hat "Slow Ride" whilst I take a dirt nap :oops:

I love the DX9 and all my stuff is JR or spectrum. I would buy a DX 9 at a moments notice the only thing is that it does not have enough channels for my needs. Played with the IX12 sorry but did not like it difficult to use and took for ever to get going. If all they did was expand the DX9 to 12 channels I would first in line to get it.

Tell me a bit more about the "difficulty" . Is it poorly laid out in programming steps? Spektrum "says" it is supposed to be laid out like any other Spektrum radio but touch screen navigation.

I was in the LHS looking at the radio. Let me just say it not easy really to get an honest opinion of the radio in the short time that I was in the store. We had to reboot the radio several times to get it going and waiting for the screen to come up seemed like it took forever. Once it did I tried to program some very basic stuff and I was struggling. If I could have it in my hands for a couple of hours my opinion may change.
